Let the Games Begin!!!

Happy Saturday!  It's Amy Bleser here making my team blog "debut" post.  I love being a member of Heather's team and I am constantly in awe of Heather and her ability to create amazing themed kits!  This week's kit "Win or Lose" is another must have.  We love board games in our family so I have lots of pictures to go with this kit!  But even so, I plan on having a  Game Night again tonight just so I can get more pictures to scrap with this FAB kit! If you haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet, here's the preview:

Hroselliwinorlosepreview

Don't forget the kit is on sale today for only $5.19 and if you purchase it the kit this week (through 8/22/08) it comes with a terrific Free With Purchase Deck of Cards!  See below!

As always, Heather's incredible Creative Team has rocked the kit with amazing layouts!  Take a look at what my fellow team members have done!

This fun layout by Jenny titled "Games You Love to Play" is so fun!  I have never seen Guess Who! before - I am absolutely going to have to check it out! I love how Jenny did the stitching and the pictures of their favorite games.

Jenny_games

I love all the layers in Tracey's layout titled "Family Games!"  Tracey has done a marvelous job of tucking  all the fabulous elements from this kit into all the different layers and made the journaling the focus of her layout!

Tracey_family_games

For a totally different take on the kit, Valerie did this fabulous layout titled "We Love Las Vegas!"  I love seeing how we all have our own take on the kit and how versatile Heather's kits are!

Mindy's layout "Mickey" is another fabulous example of how versatile Heather's kits are!  Take a look at this fabulous layout!

It's Wednesday! Time for some 411

To celebrate Wednesday, we (Heather's CT Team) thought we'd give you the "411" scoop and introduce ourselves to you - Heather's adoring public!

So without further ado, here we are! (In no particular order)

Jenny Hutson

Jenny – aka LilCameronsMommy – lives in beautiful northern Colorado with her family -- husband, Jeff (they’ve been married for 7 years) and two sons, Cameron, 6, and Connor, 2-1/2.
Jenny has been digi-scrapping for a little more than one year, and says it has become a “full-blown addiction.”
“When I’m not scrapping, you’ll find me hanging out with my family, or reading anything I can get my hands on!”

Tracey Howard

Tracey and her husband of approx. 10 years – Clay – have two children, Braiden, 13, and Emma, 4. Her family, which lives in a small Arkansas town, also includes two dogs, a cat and a parrot.
“I have been digi-scrapping for almost a year now. Other than scrapping, I enjoy playing board games with the kids, video games - Zelda in particular - and watching tv on dvd.”

Kaylea Hutson

Kaylea (no relation to Jenny that we know of....), also known as kaytebug – a childhood nickname – lives in northwest Arkansas, where she does the children’s ministry and public relations for a United Methodist Church. Kaylea has an 11 -going on 20 – yr- old niece, and an 8-year-old nephew. Besides scrapping her family, Kaylea also scraps pictures of her friends kids, and the kids within the children’s ministry program. “I've been digi-scrapping since late 2005, when I bought my laptop, and haven't looked back since. When I'm not scrapbooking, I love taking pics, quilting and reading.”

Pam Bumbaca

Pam – “the old one of the bunch so far in many ways!” - has been digi scrapping since December 2004. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband of 21 years, her two boys – Jake, 12, and Josh, 9, two cats and lots of fish in their Koi pond.
“I’m still a paper scrapper but I don't do it as much as I'd like to which exactly what got me into digi scrapping. I just started designing in June 2008 to see if I could make it in the business. “Outside of scrapbooking, Pam loves photography and hopes to eventually have a side business with it.

Leila

Leila, mommy to two “extremely loud and rambunctious boys - they’re currently trying to play leap frog in the living room even after I’ve told them – twice! – to stop!” names JP 8-1/2, and Devin 5-1/2.
Leila and her husband, Geezer (shhh! He’s only 38) for six years. The couple has moved a bit, from Texas to Florida, then to Wisconsin – home for the past three years.
“I started digiscrapping in June 2003 after a friend commented that my personal sigs looked like mini scrapbook pages.”

Ashleigh Stephens

Ashleigh lives outside of St. Louis, Mo., with her husband of nine years, Adrian, and two “adorable, funny, smart girls who keep us on our toes,” Corinne, 7, and Natalie, 4. “They are my inspiration.”
Ashleigh fell in love with photography as a child, watching her father in their basement darkroom. “I started paper scrapping when Corinne was a baby because I really wanted to do something special with all of the photos I had. About 2-1/2 years ago, I discovered digital scrapbooking, and was instantly hooked!” In addition continually working to improve her scrapbooking style, Ashleigh has branched out to try some new things including growing her own garden, teaching herself to sew and now, slowing learning how to play the guitar.

Amanda Raper

Amanda, aka. gracielou, is 28 and holding. She and her husband, Barry, have three children, “whom we refer to as the three natural disasters. -- There is Hurricane Hannah (7), Tornado Tre' (4) and Earthquake Emma (4 months). Trust me they live up to their names but they are the joy of our lives!” The family lives in middle Tennessee where her husband is a teacher at a Bible college. We live in middle Tennessee where my husband teaches at a bible college.
Amanda started digiscrapping approx. eight months ago. “I was a paste eater for almost eight years before that but have yet to regret to switch!” When she’s not scrapping - “well that's a dumb statement for me. I am always scrapping. My husband claims he is going to have to get a computer screen to go over his face in order to have any interaction with me. Maybe I am a little bit addicted.” But on those rare occassions when she’s not scrapping, she likes to do a variety of crafts – especially anything where she can work with her hands – like sewing and crochet, as well as reading.

Rachelle Davis

Rachelle lives in northern California – about an hour away from San Francisco, with her son, “one little terror of a boy” named Jaylen. Rachelle has been digi scrapping for approx. two years. Besides scrapping, Rachelle says she is “absolutly hooked on romance novels,” reading between three or four a week.

Rochelle McDonald

Rochelle is a 34-year-old full-time working mom to two little girls, ages 4 years and 6 months. She has been married to her husband, Aaron, for five years.
During the school year, Rochelle works as a psychology professor at a state university. “I love my job, but it sucks the life out of me sometimes! Digital scrapping has been a wonderful stress reliever and has allowed me to get some much needed time alone. Before I went digital, I paper scrapped for a few months, but just couldn't get into it. I'm definitely a digi-addict!”

Jaclyn Bernardo

Jacyln, 27, is a “WAHM” mom to three boys, 7, 4 and 9 months old. She’s been married to her college sweetheart for five years. She owns a custom-card business, which she runs from her home “a blessing and a challenge!”
She started in graphic design with message board signatures in the spring of 2005. She began digi scrapping in February 2008, while looking for a new creative outlet – and some much needed stress relief.

Sara Gleason

Sara, 30, is a military spouse “blessed to be married to my best friend,” and a SAHM to a toddler. Completely smitten with scrapbooking, Sara started as a paper scrapper for many years. A few months ago, she discovered digiscrapping. “I love, love, love it!”
“I like to explore different scrapping styles, but I'm mostly drawn to photo centric, clean designs with lots of little details, reminiscent of my paper pages.” Sara said her daughter is her muse, and focus of most of her pages. When she’s not soaking up time with her family, or busy with all-things-mommy, Sara loves butterfly gardening and reading. “I'm also an avid Cubbies fan and nature lover and love spending time outdoors.”

Mindy Perschon

Mindy began scrapbooking 16 years ago. Two years ago, she went digital and loves love it. “I used to have so much more time to scrap and I miss those days.”
Mindy has a 2-year-old son named Charlie – the subject of almost all her layouts. She also works full-time as a personal assistant, working mainly from home. Heather’s creative team is her first CT Team. “I love working with her stuff!!”

Darcy Baldwin

Darcy says she’s Heather's favorite creative team person – “seriously - she told me!” Darcy and her husband, Russ, live near Dallas, Texas, with their two sons, Conner, 8-3/4, and Aiden, 5, and three cats. A home-schooling mom, Darcy began scrapbooking almost six years ago. A bit over two years ago, she discovered a home in the digi scrapping world.
“I love telling our stories now, since I'm an old mom and will most likely forget by the time the boys start asking questions about why they turned out the way they did. I can just point t the scrapbooks and say - I cain't remember..go look it up.”

Emmy

Emmy – a fully addicted digital scrapper – began scrapping eight years ago, just before her oldest son was born. “I had seen my sister in law's albums and thought they were neat but I was sure I wouldn't get nearly as involved or wrapped up in scrapping as she was. Absolutely wrong! I spent the next four years having three babies one after another and scrapping in any spare moment I could find - simply for the sanity of it!”
An avid paper scrapper, Emmy said she had completed dozens of 12x12 paper albums when in 2004, she discovered digital scrapbooking. “I loved the flexibility and ease with which I could scrap while keeping an eye on my little ones. Another four years later (and one more baby) and I am 100% digital and couldn't be happier. I love to scrap and still find my sanity in it. Hardly a week goes by that I don't scrap at least a couple pages and usually more.” Emmy’s four sons are now ages 2, 4, 6 and 8 – and when she’s not scrapbooking, she finds time to homeschool her oldest three boys.
”I have more pictures than I could probably ever get scrapped but it's fun trying! I love Heather's kid friendly designs and had been a fan for a long time before joining her CT.”

Rachael Giallongo
Rachael lives in Auburn, New Hamshire with her husband, Scott – they married on leap year day 1996. Between the two they have five children, Nicole, 18 – and currently away at Marine Boot Camp, Victoria, 16, Megan, 14, Dane, 11, and Dylan, 9.
Rachael is currently a full-time college student, majoring in graphic design – “and proudly maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She has been scrapbooking since 1998, and a digi scrapbooker since 2005.

Val aka Valgal
Val lives in Michigan with her “sweet little family.” She’s a stay-at-home-mom. While she’s known Heather for a couple years, but just recently became a creative team member.
“I absolutely love her clean, classic designs and it's a joy to create for her.”
When not scrapbooking,  Val said she’s taking care of her house, watching reality TV or playing Guitar Hero.

Hello scrappers!!  Jenny here, bringing you day four of our Team Blog Kick-Off Party!  Today, we will be spotlighting a faithful HRD customer who's layouts jumped right out at me from the gallery!  Please join me in welcoming Gabby (nov05mama) into the spotlight!!  I asked Gabby a few questions so we could all get to know her a little bit better.  Here is what she had to say...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tell us a little about yourself, Gabby.

About me...let's see...I am 27 yrs old (well, almost...on August 4th!).  I am originally from Georgia, but moved to NC 8 years ago and LOVE it here...I have been married for 7 yrs to the love of my life. We have one adorable little boy who will be 3 in November! I started a home business designing custom cards shortly after he was born. That was only the beginning of my digital design obsession! LOL!!

How long have you been digiscrapping?

Since May :)

Are/were you a paper scrapper before going digi?

I used to paper scrap for many years and was a consultant for Creative Memories about 10 yrs ago. I recently got into Digi Scrapping and have fallen in LOVE!

How would you describe your scrapping style?

Ha...I am not really sure! I definitely am drawn to clean lines and white space...but I don't always scrap that way!

What is your favorite Heather Roselli Designs product?

I can only pick one? LOL!! I pretty much love everything...but if I had to pick JUST one...I think my all time favorite is Mischief and Mayhem...it just suits my little guy to a T, so it's the perfect kit for me to scrap with!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are a few of Gabby's layouts using Heather's designs that just jumped out at me from her gallery...

Spotlight On Heather!!

Good Morning Bloggers!

As a part of Heather celebrating her one year mark at Sweet Shoppe Designs, we sat down with her for a little one on one question and answer session.  We have enjoyed getting to know a little bit more about her, and we hope you will too.  So, pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and read on.

Team: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Heather: I have been married to my husband Joe for 10 years this October. We have 3 boys. Liam is 6.5 years old and then twins Trevor and Neil will be 4 early in September. We live with our one year old Burmese cat named Dolby in Nashville, TN. Liam will be starting the first grade in a few days and the twins will be going to a private preschool on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Team: What did you do before becoming a designer?
Heather: Well, before becoming a mom I earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and was a medical researcher at Vanderbilt University. I also taught one semester of Anatomy & Physiology at Belmont University during which I became pregnant with Liam. I always knew I wanted to stay at home with my kids, and luckily I was able to do so.

My hobby prior to scrapbooking was Polymer Clay. I was really into it, selling at craft fairs and online, teaching classes and writing articles for magazines and websites. I was even on an HGTV program called That's Clever showing how to make two polymer clay projects!

Team: Were you a scrapper before getting into designing?
Heather: I started paper scrapping right after my first child was born in order to make a book of his first year for my mother since she only was able to see him 2 or 3 times that first year. Soon after finishing that I started scrapping his first year for me in 12x12. From the very beginning I used my computer to edit, crop and reszie my digital photos and also for typing and printing my journaling.

Team: Were you a paper scapper before going digital?  If yes, Have you given that up completely?
Heather: I was so afraid to cut paper and mess it up and I had such a hard time working with patterned paper that I started using my computer to mock up my LOs first. I would arrange everything on the digital page and then experiment with color blocks and such. Before long I was making a complete LO on the screen and then translating that back into paper. During a search for something I ran across digital scrapping and realized that was what I had been doing all on my own! I quickly found tons of products and tutorials and I was hooked!! I started scrapping in 8x8 and having my digi LOs printed as photos. The only paper projects I do now are hybrid things using printed out digi products!

Team: How did you get started designing?  How long have you been designing?
Heather: I soon began designing for myself - making kits that matched my photos and kids clothes. Within a few months I had about 10 full kits, so I started looking into the possibility of selling them on my own site. At that same time TDC had a designer call and I decided that would be much easier than starting my own site, so I applied. I began selling there in the Fall of 2005.

Team: How many digital kits have you created to date?
Heather: Oh boy! I have no idea! I had well over 100 products at TDC before moving to SSD. Many of those retired. Now I have about 150 products at SSD and have retired more since starting there a year ago. I'm fairly prolific - usually releasing at least one new item each week.

Team: What is your favorite kit to date?
Heather: That is a hard one! I fall in love with kits all of the time and my favorite changes regularly. My most recent favorite is the Party On collection that I designed specifically for my 1st year bday at SSD!! It will be releasing tomorrow!

Team: How about your least favorite?
Heather: I can honestly say I've had several least favorite kits! Joy Happens was terrible, Greek Life was pretty bad, Summer Camp was just ugly... I could go on!

Team: What is your biggest seller to date?
Heather: I only keep yearly numbers and I've never totalled things up before, but I would have to guess that Construction Zone is my best seller to date. The kit is old now, but I just can't bring myself to retire it since I love it and it still sells well as a discounted Penny Candy kit! My best sellers this year so far are Backyard Boy and Way to My Heart. I'm not that surprised with the success of Backyard Boy but the sales for Way to My Heart really caught me by surprise (have to love good surprises!).

Team: What helps get you going when the mojo is not there?
Heather: I usually turn to my CT girls for help with ideas when the mojo is gone. They are a wealth of ideas and suggestions and I love creating kits from their ideas! Sometimes I'm just burned out for a few days and time is the only thing that can cure mojo loss!

Team: We would love to see how far you have come, can you show us your first kit?  Maybe we could get a peek at the new Party collection too?
Heather: Ok, after some digging through my archived files and looking at file creation dates I've found my first kits! They were My Favorite Toys and Funky & Fresh. I don't remember what the inspiration was for Funky & Fresh, but My Favorite Toys came directly from a onesie that Trevor was wearing and that I loved on him at the time. The drawings in it were my very first attempts at using a Wacom tablet and the reason I bought the tablet! LOL

Hrosellimyfavoritetoyspreview

Hrosellifreshandfunkypreview

The latest kits are Party On and the matching Build-A-Cupcake element pack. I just love the number candles in there!!

Hrosellipartyonpreview

Hrosellibuildacupcakepreview

Team: What is your favorite store aside from Sweet Shoppe Designs?
Heather: You know, I truly don't shop anywhere else for digi products (aside from commercial use products)! I am so behind on my own scrapping and when I do scrap I can easily find several kits in my own stash or at SSD that fit my needs. I am so lucky to work in a place that has such wonderful designers that fit my tastes! :)

Team: Okay, time for a little non-scrap related information...Any Hobbies outside of Digiland?
Heather: not really anymore, just whatever my kids are into!

Team: What is your favorite comfort food?
Heather: anything creamy, sweet or chocolatey!

Team: Do you have a favorite type of music?
Heather: the only music I tend to hear lately is from kids' TV shows or movies! I have to admit that I still love 80's music and 60's music too! I'm such an old fuddy-duddy already!

Team: What is your all time favorite movie?
Heather: I'm so terrible at remembering things like this...but I did love Moulin Rouge...well anything with Ewan McGregor in it! hehe

That wraps up our chat session with Heather.  The fun is just beginning though! Be sure to stay tuned this week for your chance to pick up some freebies and win some prizes as we celebrate one fantastic year of being a part of Sweet Shoppe Designs!
