This is not a tutorial really, so I shouldn't be writing it up as such, but if you're not using your diffuse glow tool you are missing out in a big time way. This technique creates wonderfully soft and pretty photos in a snap.
Original photo (once again using my beauty queen)
Begin by setting your background color to white.
Then open your diffuse glow window... Filter > Distort > Diffuse Glow
At this point you really just move the sliders around till you like what you see. There are about 2 zillion combinations of graininess, glow amounts and clear amounts. This is the setting I chose this particular time.
