I find that sometimes I'm so caught up in making my digital layouts look like traditional paper ones that I forget the important factor... it's digital. So many fun things to do, like this text effect.
Shadow Text
Stary by typing your title. Right-click on that layer and choose Rasterize Type. Right-click again and choose Duplicate Layer.
Run a gaussian blur filter on your bottom layer. Make sure it's not so blurry that you can't make out the letters.
Using your move tool hold down the Shift and Alt keys while dragging out a corner handle.
Nudge that layer up a bit and reduce it's opacity.
You can use this a number of ways. I used Heather's Key Ingredients Stamped Alphas (my fav, btw) and Beary Good Friends kit to create this title...
